Product Details
ASTM A995 5A is a type of American standard duplex stainless steel casting. The applicable standard is ASTM A995/A995M-2019. ASTM A995 5A is a ferritic-austenitic (duplex) stainless steel that combines the most advantageous properties of ferritic and austenitic steels. Due to its high chromium and molybdenum content, this steel exhibits excellent resistance to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, and uniform corrosion. The duplex microstructure ensures that the steel has high resistance to stress corrosion cracking and high mechanical strength.

The main differences between super duplex steel and duplex steel include the following aspects:
Chemical composition:
Super duplex steel contains more copper (Cu) and nitrogen (N) and other metal elements, which help to enhance the material's strength, toughness, and corrosion resistance.
Mechanical properties:
Due to the addition of copper and nitrogen elements, the mechanical properties of super duplex steel, such as strength, toughness, and corrosion resistance, are superior to those of duplex steel.
Corrosion resistance:
Super duplex steel also exhibits excellent corrosion resistance, especially in chemical processing, marine environments, and food industries.
Thermal stability:
Super duplex steel shows superior performance at high temperatures, maintaining high strength and plasticity, and having significant advantages in high-temperature processing and use.
Softening and heat treatment characteristics:
The softening mechanism of super duplex steel is local weakening, meaning that only certain areas will soften, while other areas still maintain high strength.
Application fields
Due to its excellent comprehensive performance, super duplex steel is mainly applied in fields that require high strength, high plasticity and high thermal stability, such as offshore platforms, oil and gas pipelines, chemical equipment, nuclear industry, high-speed trains, etc.
Packing of Standard Packing:
Typical bulk packaging includes palletized plastic 5 gallon/25 kg. pails, fiber and steel drums to 1 ton super sacks in full container (FCL) or truck load (T/L) quantities. Research and sample quantities and hygroscopic, oxidizing or other air sensitive materials may be packaged under argon or vacuum. Solutions are packaged in polypropylene, plastic or glass jars up to palletized 470 gallon liquid totes Special package is available on request. E FORUs’ is carefully handled to minimize damage during storage and transportation and to preserve the quality of our products in their original condition.
