Product Details

A forged steel gate valve is a type of valve where the gate plate moves vertically along the centerline of the passage. This type of valve is mainly used for cutting purposes in pipelines. The forged steel gate valve is a widely used valve, typically employed in cutting devices with a diameter of DN ≤ 50. The forged steel gate valve is quite common.

Duplex stainless steel is a type of stainless steel that contains an equal amount of ferrite phase and austenite phase in its solid-state quenched structure, with a minimum phase content of 30%. Duplex stainless steel is formed by increasing the Cr content or adding other ferrite elements on the basis of 18-8 austenitic stainless steel. It not only has a dual structure of austenite and ferrite, but also saves Ni alloy. Due to the characteristics of the two-phase structure of duplex stainless steel, by correctly controlling the chemical composition and heat treatment process, duplex stainless steel can combine the advantages of ferritic stainless steel and austenitic stainless steel. The presence of austenite in duplex stainless steel reduces the brittleness of Cr ferrite and the tendency of crystal growth, while maintaining excellent toughness and welding performance; the presence of ferrite increases the yield strength, intergranular corrosion resistance and chloride stress corrosion resistance of austenite.

Compared with austenitic stainless steel, the advantages of duplex stainless steel are as follows:

Firstly, the yield strength of this material is more than twice that of ordinary austenitic stainless steel, and it possesses sufficient plasticity and toughness required for forming. The wall thickness of storage or pressure vessels made of duplex stainless steel is reduced by 30-50% compared to that of ordinary austenitic steel, which is beneficial for cost reduction.

Secondly, it possesses excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Even the lowest alloy content duplex stainless steel has a higher resistance to stress corrosion cracking than austenitic stainless steel, especially in environments containing chloride ions. Stress corrosion is a major problem that ordinary austenitic stainless steel is difficult to solve.

Thirdly, among various materials, the corrosion resistance of 2205 duplex stainless steel is superior to that of ordinary 316L austenitic stainless steel. Super duplex stainless steel has extremely high corrosion resistance and can even replace high-alloy austenitic stainless steel or corrosion-resistant alloys in certain media.

Fourth, it has excellent resistance to local corrosion. Compared with austenitic stainless steel with similar gold content, duplex stainless steel has better wear resistance and fatigue corrosion resistance than austenitic stainless steel.

Fifth, the linear expansion coefficient is lower than that of austenitic stainless steel and is similar to that of carbon steel. It is suitable for connection with carbon steel and has significant engineering significance, such as in the production of composite plates or linings.

Sixth, regardless of whether it is under dynamic or static loading conditions, duplex stainless steel has a higher energy absorption capacity than austenitic stainless steel. This has practical application value for structural components in dealing with sudden accidents such as collisions and explosions.
