The 2205 and 2507 duplex stainless steel ball valves adopt an upper-mounted structure. The high pressure reduces the connecting bolts of the valve body itself, enhances the reliability of the valve, and can overcome the influence of the system's own weight on the normal operation of the valve. Double-phase steel ball valves are widely used in pipelines of coal chemical, petrochemical, rubber, papermaking, pharmaceutical and other industries as devices for medium diversion, convergence or flow direction switching.


The 2205 and 2507 duplex steel ball valves, due to their austenitic + ferritic dual-phase structure and the fact that the contents of the two phases are basically the same, possess the characteristics of both austenitic and ferritic stainless steel. The yield strength can reach 400Mpa to 550MPa, which is twice that of common austenitic stainless steel. Compared with ferritic stainless steel, duplex stainless steel ball valves have higher toughness, lower brittle transition temperature, and significantly improved intergranular corrosion resistance and weldability. At the same time, it retains some characteristics of ferritic stainless steel, such as brittleness at 475℃, high thermal conductivity, small linear expansion coefficient, superplasticity and magnetism, etc. Compared with austenitic stainless steel, duplex stainless steel ball valves have higher strength, especially with a significant increase in yield strength. Moreover, their resistance to pitting corrosion, stress corrosion, and corrosion fatigue has also been notably improved.


According to their chemical composition, 2205 and 2507 duplex steel ball valves can be classified into four types: Cr18 type, Cr23 type (without Mo), Cr22 type and Cr25 type. The Cr25 type duplex stainless steel ball valve can be further classified into the common type and the super duplex stainless steel ball valve. Among them, the Cr22 type and Cr25 type are more widely used. The duplex stainless steel ball valves widely used in China are mostly made in Sweden. The specific grades include: 3RE60(Cr18 type), SAF2304(Cr23 type), SAF2205(Cr22 type), and SAF2507(Cr25 type).


The 2205 and 2507 duplex ball valves combine the characteristics of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels. Compared with ferritic stainless steels, they have higher plasticity and toughness, no room-temperature brittleness, and significantly improved intergranular corrosion resistance and weldability. At the same time, they retain the 475 ° C brittleness and high thermal conductivity of ferritic stainless steels, as well as superplasticity and other features. Compared with austenitic stainless steel, it has higher strength and significantly improved resistance to intergranular corrosion and chloride stress corrosion. Duplex stainless steel ball valves have excellent resistance to pitting corrosion and are also a type of nickel-saving stainless steel.

Since the duplex stainless steel ball valve was born in the United States in the 1940s, it has developed to the third generation. Its main feature is that its yield strength can reach 400-550 mpa, which is twice that of ordinary stainless steel. Therefore, it can save materials and reduce the manufacturing cost of equipment. In terms of corrosion resistance, especially under harsh medium conditions (such as seawater with high chloride ion content), the resistance of duplex stainless steel ball valves to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, stress corrosion and corrosion fatigue is significantly superior to that of ordinary austenitic stainless steel and can be comparable to that of high-alloy austenitic stainless steel.
