### **Product Introduction: Nickelvac® H-B-2 (UNS N10665) Nickel-Molybdenum Superalloy**
**Nickelvac H-B-2 (UNS N10665)** is a nickel-molybdenum superalloy specifically engineered for exceptional resistance to reducing chemicals and hydrochloric acid corrosion. This low-carbon, nickel-molybdenum alloy demonstrates outstanding performance in severely corrosive reducing environments, particularly in hydrochloric acid of all concentrations and temperatures. The controlled low carbon content significantly reduces carbide precipitation during welding or thermal processing, making it highly suitable for as-welded applications in aggressive chemical environments.
The alloy exhibits excellent thermal stability and maintains good mechanical properties across a wide temperature range, from cryogenic conditions up to 400°C (750°F), while providing superior resistance to stress corrosion cracking and localized corrosion attack.

**Technical Note**: Nickelvac H-B-2 requires careful control of welding parameters to maintain optimal corrosion resistance. Recommended welding processes include GTAW with matching filler metal. The alloy is susceptible to formation of grain boundary precipitates in the temperature range of 550-850°C (1020-1560°F), which can affect both corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. Proper solution annealing at 1150°C (2100°F) followed by rapid cooling is essential to maintain optimum performance. The material demonstrates good cold working characteristics, though intermediate annealing may be required for severe forming operations.
