### **Product Introduction: INCONEL® Alloy MA758 & MA754 Ni-Cr Superalloys** **INCONEL® Alloy MA758** and **MA754** are advanced oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) nickel-chromium superalloys manufactured through mechanical alloying (MA) technology. These alloys represent the pinnacle of high-temperature material engineering, offering exceptional strength and stability at temperatures where conventional superalloys would rapidly degrade. **INCONEL MA754** (UNS N07754) is characterized by its outstanding high-temperature strength and excellent oxidation resistance, while **INCONEL MA758** offers enhanced chromium content for superior corrosion resistance in aggressive environments. Both alloys maintain their mechanical properties through a unique dispersion of fine, stable yttrium oxide (Y₂O₃) particles throughout the matrix. --- ### **Chemical Composition** | Element | MA754 Content (%) | MA758 Content (%) | |---------|-------------------|-------------------| | **Nickel (Ni)** | 78.0 min | Balance | | **Chromium (Cr)** | 18.0 - 23.0 | 28.0 - 32.0 | | **Yttrium Oxide (Y₂O₃)** | 0.3 - 0.7 | 0.45 - 0.75 | | **Iron (Fe)** | 1.0 max | 1.0 max | | **Aluminum (Al)** | 0.3 max | 0.3 max | | **Titanium (Ti)** | 0.5 max | 0.3 max | | **Carbon (C)** | 0.05 max | 0.05 max | | **Silicon (Si)** | 0.5 max | 0.5 max | --- ### **Physical Properties** | Property | MA754 Value | MA758 Value | |----------|-------------|-------------| | **Density** | 8.31 g/cm³ | 8.05 g/cm³ | | **Melting Point** | 1375 °C | 1380 - 1420 °C | | **Thermal Conductivity** | 14.5 W/m·K | 15.2 W/m·K | | **Electrical Resistivity** | 1.25 μΩ·m | 1.25 μΩ·m | | **Modulus of Elasticity** | 217 GPa | 220 GPa | | **Coefficient of Thermal Expansion** | 14.5 μm/m·°C | 14.5 μm/m·°C | | **Magnetic Response** | Essentially non-magnetic | Essentially non-magnetic | --- ### **Mechanical Properties** **Room Temperature Properties:** - **Tensile Strength:** 965 MPa (MA754), 860-1000 MPa (MA758) - **Yield Strength:** 690 MPa (MA754), 620-750 MPa (MA758) - **Elongation:** 15% (MA754), 15-25% (MA758) **High-Temperature Performance:** - **Maximum Service Temperature:** 1300°C (both alloys) - **Creep Rupture Strength (1100°C):** 50 MPa (MA758) - **Excellent thermal fatigue resistance** - **Superior microstructural stability** --- ### **Key Characteristics & Advantages** 1. **Oxide Dispersion Strengthening Technology** - Fine, stable yttrium oxide dispersoids - Inhibition of dislocation motion and grain boundary sliding - Enhanced high-temperature mechanical properties 2. **Exceptional High-Temperature Capability** - Superior creep resistance up to 1300°C - Excellent stress rupture properties - Outstanding thermal fatigue resistance 3. **Oxidation and Corrosion Resistance** - Excellent oxidation resistance (both alloys) - Enhanced corrosion resistance (MA758 with higher Cr content) - Stable protective oxide layer formation 4. **Controlled Microstructure** - Coarse, elongated grain structure - Optimized for high-temperature creep resistance - Resistant to recrystallization and grain growth --- ### **Product Applications** **Aerospace Industry:** - Turbine vane segments and rings - Afterburner components - Combustion chamber liners - Rocket engine components **Thermal Processing:** - Radiant furnace tubes - Heat treatment fixtures - Sintering trays and boats - High-temperature furnace components **Nuclear Industry:** - Core component supports - Fuel element cladding - Reactor internals - Nuclear process equipment **Industrial Applications:** - Glass manufacturing equipment - Ceramic processing components - Heat exchanger parts - High-temperature fasteners --- ### **International Standards** | Standard Type | MA754 Standard | MA758 Standard | |---------------|----------------|----------------| | **UNS** | N07754 | To be specified | | **AMS** | 5892 | Customer specifications | | **ASTM** | B849 | B849 | | **ASME** | Code Case N-201 | Nuclear Applications | --- ### **Summary** **INCONEL® MA754** and **MA758** represent the forefront of oxide dispersion strengthened superalloy technology, offering unparalleled performance in extreme temperature environments. While MA754 provides excellent high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance for aerospace and industrial applications, MA758 offers enhanced chromium content for superior corrosion resistance in aggressive environments. Both alloys maintain their mechanical integrity at temperatures up to 1300°C through their unique yttrium oxide dispersion strengthening mechanism. The coarse, elongated grain structure optimized for creep resistance, combined with exceptional microstructural stability, makes these alloys indispensable for applications where conventional materials would rapidly fail. Certification to major international standards ensures consistent quality and performance, providing engineers with reliable material solutions for the most demanding high-temperature applications in aerospace, energy, and industrial sectors.
