#### **Summary**
**Hastelloy® B-2 Alloy (UNS N10665)** represents a specialized corrosion-resistant material optimized for service in severe reducing environments, particularly hydrochloric acid and other non-oxidizing acids. Its low carbon composition minimizes susceptibility to intergranular corrosion in the as-welded condition, while the high molybdenum content provides exceptional resistance to localized corrosion and general attack in reducing media. Supported by comprehensive ASME standardization (SB-333, SB-335, SB-619, SB-622, SB-626), this alloy delivers reliable performance in demanding chemical processing applications where conventional stainless steels and even many nickel-based alloys would rapidly deteriorate. While limited in oxidizing environments, its unparalleled performance in reducing conditions has established it as the material of choice for hydrochloric acid service and related applications across the chemical processing, pharmaceutical, and acid production industries.
