### **Product Introduction: Alloy WE132 / INCONEL WE132 Plate** **Alloy WE132 (INCONEL® WE132)** is a premium nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy specifically designed for exceptional strength and outstanding corrosion resistance in the most demanding environments. It belongs to the family of age-hardenable superalloys, with **INCONEL 718** being its closest and most well-known wrought counterpart. The "WE132" designation typically refers to the welding electrode or casting version, while the plate product is essentially supplied to the chemical composition and properties of **INCONEL 718**. This alloy maintains high strength, excellent fatigue resistance, and good ductility from cryogenic temperatures up to about 700°C (1300°F). It is also renowned for its resistance to post-weld age cracking, making it a preferred choice for fabricated structures operating under high stress and corrosive conditions. --- #### **Key Features & Advantages** * **Exceptional High-Temperature Strength:** Retains significant mechanical properties at temperatures up to 700°C (1300°F). * **Outstanding Corrosion Resistance:** Excellent resistance to a wide range of corrosive media, including pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress-corrosion cracking (SCC). * **Age-Hardenable:** Can be heat-treated to very high strength levels through a precipitation hardening process. * **Excellent Fabricability:** Good weldability with minimal susceptibility to post-weld heat treatment cracking. * **High Strength-to-Weight Ratio:** Offers superior performance in critical, weight-sensitive applications. --- #### **Chemical Composition (Typical Weight %)** The standard composition for the plate product (INCONEL 718) is as follows: | Element | Content (%) | Element | Content (%) | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | **Nickel (Ni)** | 50 - 55 | **Molybdenum (Mo)** | 2.8 - 3.3 | | **Chromium (Cr)** | 17 - 21 | **Aluminum (Al)** | 0.2 - 0.8 | | **Iron (Fe)** | Balance | **Titanium (Ti)** | 0.65 - 1.15 | | **Niobium (Nb)** | 4.75 - 5.5 | **Carbon (C)** | ≤ 0.08 | | **Manganese (Mn)** | ≤ 0.35 | **Silicon (Si)** | ≤ 0.35 | | **Cobalt (Co)** | ≤ 1.0 | **Sulfur (S)** | ≤ 0.015 | | **Boron (B)** | ≤ 0.006 | **Copper (Cu)** | ≤ 0.30 | *The combination of Niobium (Nb) and Aluminum (Al)/Titanium (Ti) forms the strengthening gamma double prime (γ") and gamma prime (γ') phases during aging.* --- #### **Physical Properties** | Property | Metric Unit | Imperial Unit | | :--- | :--- | :--- | | **Density** | 8.19 g/cm³ | 0.296 lb/in³ | | **Melting Range** | 1260 - 1336 °C | 2300 - 2440 °F | | **Specific Heat (20°C)** | 435 J/kg·K | 0.104 Btu/lb·°F | | **Thermal Conductivity** | 11.4 W/m·K (100°C)
