Product Datasheet: Magnesium Alloy AZ91B-F (Die Cast)**
#### **1. Overview**
Magnesium Alloy AZ91B-F is a standard magnesium-aluminum-zinc die casting alloy supplied in the as-cast condition. The **"F"** temper designation indicates that components are used without post-casting heat treatment. AZ91B represents an intermediate purity grade between AZ91A and the high-purity AZ91D, offering a balanced combination of mechanical properties, castability, and cost-effectiveness for general purpose applications.
#### **2. Key Advantages**
- **Excellent Die Casting Characteristics:** Superior fluidity for thin-walled complex components
- **Good Mechanical Properties:** High strength-to-weight ratio with adequate ductility
- **Cost-Effective Production:** Lower material cost compared to high-purity grades
- **Good Machinability:** Excellent machining characteristics with high surface quality
- **Good Damping Capacity:** Effective vibration absorption
#### **3. Chemical Composition (Weight % per ASTM B94)**
| Element | Content (%) | Element | Content (%) |
|---------|-------------|---------|-------------|
| **Aluminum (Al)** | 8.5 - 9.5 | **Zinc (Zn)** | 0.45 - 0.9 |
| **Manganese (Mn)** | 0.13 - 0.40 | **Silicon (Si)** | ≤ 0.30 |
| **Copper (Cu)** | ≤ 0.08 | **Iron (Fe)** | ≤ 0.03 |
| **Nickel (Ni)** | ≤ 0.01 | **Other Elements** | ≤ 0.30 |
| **Magnesium (Mg)** | Balance | | |
*Note: AZ91B has intermediate purity levels with tighter control on iron and nickel compared to AZ91A, but less strict than AZ91D specifications.*
