The fluid resistance is small. Among all types of valves, the ball valve has the least fluid resistance. Even the bore ball valve has a relatively small fluid resistance.
2. Thrust bearings can reduce the frictional torque of the valve stem, but the valve stem remains balanced and flexible during long-term operation.
3. The valve seat has excellent sealing performance. The sealing ring supported by materials such as polytetrafluoroethylene is easy to seal. Moreover, the sealing capacity of the ball valve increases with the increase of the medium pressure.
4. The valve stem seal is reliable. As the valve stem only rotates and does not lift, the packing seal of the valve stem is not easily damaged, and the sealing capacity increases with the increase of the medium pressure.
5. Due to the excellent self-lubricating properties of materials such as polytetrafluoroethylene, the friction loss with the ball is small, which helps to extend the service life of the ball valve.
6. The bottom-mounted valve stem and the protruding steps at the head of the valve stem prevent the valve stem from erupting. In case of fire causing damage to the valve stem seal, the protruding steps can still form a metal contact with the valve body to ensure the valve stem seal.
